French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6-8 slices challah, brioche, or white bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • maple syrup or powdered sugar to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a shallow container (such as a pie plate), combine cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla. Wisk together.
  3. Grease a 9x13 pan with butter and sprinkle brown sugar over top butter.
  4. Dip bread in egg mixture. Place bread slices in pan.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve with maple syrup or powdered sugar.
